PVT: Patrol Vehicle Tactics (Handgun/Carbine)

Patrol Vehicle Tactics is a two-day course that provides students with the opportunity to

develop pistol and carbine manipulation skills and muzzle awareness in a dynamic

environment; particularly while moving in and around vehicles and shooting

from unconventional shooting positions.

Topics:

  • Vehicle Ballistics
  • Handgun and Carbine Manipulation (two hands, gun hand only,  support hand only)
  • Individual and Small-unit (two man) Movements
  • Proper Shooting Technique from the driver and passenger seats (including through the windshield)
  • Vehicle-stop shooting tactics
  • Exiting the vehicle and moving to a firing position
  • Shoot/move/communicate techniques
  • Multiple shooting positions under the vehicle

 

Duration: 2 Days

Round count: 400 Handgun, 400 Carbine

Tactical Movement For Patrol

Tactical Movement for Patrol is designed to instruct patrol officers in basic

tactical movement techniques effective for individual responders and small units

(2-6 officers). Students learn first-hand the team concept approach to

successfully clearing structures. Officers develop knowledge of tactical principles,

tactical decision making, verbal and non-verbal communication and movement

techniques that can be employed individually or in small teams. Topics include:

action vs. reaction, weapon manipulation, building approach, search techniques,

room softening and room clearing. Training evolutions are run utilizing FX

Simunition force-on-force exercises against trained role-players.

Tactical Pistol 

Weaponcraft’s LE Tactical Pistol course will enhance the individual officer’s

pistol skills beyond the Criminal Justice Academy level and develop a sense of

tactical awareness. Officers begin with a skills test to assess their balance of speed

and accuracy and the ability to perform reloads and immediate action drills

while on the move. Topics include a variety of drills to develop/enhance pistol

manipulation and marksmanship skills as well as the combat mindset required to

survive and prevail in life-threatening situations. This course is also appropriate for

experienced shooters prior to attending a Criminal Justice Academy.

 

 

Duration: 1 Day

Tactical Carbine

Weaponcraft’s LE Patrol Rifle course will enhance the individual officer’s

carbine skills beyond the Criminal Justice Academy level and sharpen

the officer’s sense of tactical awareness. Officers begin with a skills test to

assess their balance of speed and accuracy and the ability to perform reloads

and immediate action drills while on the move and under stress. Topics

include shooting on the move; manipulations under fire; conventional and

unconventional shooting positions; utilization of barricades; turns and pivots;

support side shooting and a variety of drills to develop/enhance manipulation

and marksmanship skills as well as the combat mindset required to survive

and prevail in life-threatening situations.

Handgun Low Light/No Light 

Seventy-five percent of all defensive shootings take place in a low light

setting. Light should be an asset, not a liability. Weaponcraft’s Low Light/

No Light Handgun Course builds on pistol manipulation skills already

ingrained in the officer. This course will give officers the skills, tactics and

knowledge to operate in a dynamic and realistic low-light environment.

Topics will include: principles of low light tactics, multiple flashlight

techniques, anatomy/physiology of the eye, equipment choice, light

characteristics and flashlight applications. Officers will engage a variety of

targets in multi-stage stress courses as a final exercise.
